About Mary Gray: Mary has been competing at Combined Driving Events since 1975. She competed many ponies and horses with success at major East Coast Events. Mary has a Masters Degree in Special Education and has worked with special needs children for 25 years. Mary is also past President of the United States Driving for the Disabled. As a child Mary received the Polio shot and unfortunately contacted Polio. She never stopped competing and her educational background and experience to teaching new drivers and promoting the sport of Carriage Driving.
Mary has represented the United States in five Paralympics World Driving Championships, the highlight of her driving career was winning an individual Gold Medal in Hartbury, England in 1994. She hopefully will compete again at the World Championships in 2010 in Holland, where she will “Go for the Gold” once again.
Presently Mary has her driving and training program at Verrill Stables in Danville, NH. She offers quality driving instruction to children and adults.
She now has turned her energy towards her passion of teaching drivers and horses/ponies on how to develop the mutal trust and respect that makes a successful partnership. Come join her at Verrill Stables.
